The most tedious of the designs I've done so far. I had to crop and clean individual objects/images and compose them altogether on the table. I even had to photo-manipulate the spaghetti and add the meatballs. Bon Apetito!
Amazing Work on the Banner Part!!! The overall site looks great and the use of wooden textures as table provides the very thing you'd want on a cooking site!!
But, I've to say one thing, the Business Name of the site, it 's not distinct!! Maybe you could remove the embossed effect or could make it a bit prominent somehow!!! I had to ask a French friend of mine what Buon Giormo meant (I thought it was french but he told me it was Italian) just to make sure which one was the Business Name!!
Hahaha, it was a delight to read your comment, thanks a lot. And you're right about the Business Name. I've tried several ways to make it more prominent but specific requests from the client like the addition of the blurred background made it a bit difficult to see. And yes, Buon Giorno is Italian
Wonderful job on this...it looks so lively and comforting, yet very modern If I may ask...where did you go for the photos used, and how did you create such a clean wood look for the background and top of the page?
Those words made my day, thanks for sharing your thoughts. Most of the elements arranged on the table came from sxc.hu, got to be patient though to find some good images that will fit in the overall composition. The wood needed some opacity adjustments and color overlay to blend with the rest of the page. Layering of gradients and adding highlights were also helpful. It's trial and error most of the time and some accidental magic that makes you learn it Hope that helps!
